Daisy has a PhD in financial management and corporate governance. She has diverse experience in business development and growth. Her experience includes taking over businesses that were in dire need of strategic planning and leadership and making them successful. She is an experienced business development and growth strategist and her expertise lies in all aspects of running a successful business and/or non-profit organisation. In the past, Daisy was the Director of University of New England’s English Language Centre. Her skills include budget-management, increasing profitability, cutting costs, working on diversifying business, making optimum use of resources, managing budget blow-outs, mentoring small business owners, preparing business plans and assisting owners implement them.

She is a strong professional with a PhD focused in Financial Management and Corporate Governance and her thesis is on ‘The role of corporate financial control and governance mechanisms in the successful financial management of a small not-for-profit organisation in Australia’. Her academic experience includes mentoring business students, judging an international business plan competition, lecturing in post and undergraduate business degrees and marking academic works.

Mr Angelo Saavedra

Angelo is a highly experienced business analyst, with over eight years of experience conducting business analysis and strategy development. He has also successfully implemented digital solutions for businesses across various industries and for different purposes. Some of his recent work includes the design and development of the New England Conservatorium of Music (NECOM) website in November 2017 (www.necom.org.au) and the development of a series of learning modules for the SmartFarm Learning Hub (smartfarmhub.education).

In terms of academic qualifications, he has completed a bachelor degree in Systems/Industrial Engineering (Callao National University, 2001), an advanced master degree in Commerce (Griffith University, 2009) and a certification in Business Process Integration – SAP TERP10 (Queensland University of Technology, 2013). Furthermore, Angelo is still working as an academic at the University of New England, lecturing and tutoring students in the following disciplines: Small Business Management – AFM324 (undergraduate level); Entrepreneurship – AFM524 (postgraduate level); Accounting and Finance for Managers – AFM402 (undergraduate level); Introduction to Management Accounting – AFM112 (undergraduate level) and Cost Accounting – AFM202 (undergraduate level).

Ms Roxanne Smith

Roxanne has worked with the State Government for over 15 years supporting and developing SME’s. This was done through State and Regional Development and also, the Department of Industry and Prime Ministers and Cabinet. She has a wealth of knowledge in overcoming barriers to growth and her experience is across a large range of industries- manufacturing to agriculture. She has taken new inventions to the marketplace in the art, culture and music industries. Roxanne has provided support to businesses to assist in their growth and development.

Roxanne is proud of her Aboriginal heritage and has used her business expertise to assist many Aboriginal people and organisations to improve their processes, make successful funding applications, develop clear transparent strategic directions and improve business outcomes. She is currently studying her MBA and will be completing it in 2018.

Mr Michael Kean

Michael has been an IT consultant for over 20 years. Michael is a technical specialist that focuses on integrating information technology into businesses and showing clients how to use IT more efficiently to help reach their objectives and targets.  He works in partnership with clients, advising them how to use technology in order to meet their business objectives or overcome problems. He works to improve the structure and efficiency of IT within the business by introducing new technical solutions and software platforms to current IT infrastructures or by maintaining current ones if that is what his clients want.

Miss Sarah El-Sayed
Marketing Consultant

Sarah is a specialist in marketing. Her expertise is in digital marketing which is constantly evolving, making it more and more difficult for business owners to grasp. It’s this challenge that actually excites Sarah about digital marketing. Sarah is well versed in social media marketing such as Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram and content marketing which are amongst the hottest new channels of digital marketing.

Sarah is in her last year of a Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing and Tourism Management at the University of Newcastle. She is enrolled in a dual degree in 2019 which are a Master in Marketing and an MBA.

Mr Callan Robinson

Callan is an MBA graduate from the University of New England.

Callan is passionate about developing people and ideas in organisations. He has global experience having worked in Japan for 10 years, volunteered in India and was the Australian representative for the Enactus World Cup to Johannesburg South Africa in 2015.

He is bilingual in Japanese and English and brings a diverse managerial perspective to any organisation as he has worked in a traditional mono cultural environment and also a modern multicultural context. He believes that businesses are no longer tied down by geographical boundaries as there are countless opportunities for people to tap into a multitude of avenues to solve today’s problems.

His strengths are in HR transformation, leadership development, better utilisation of multi-generational organisations as a way to introducing the next wave of young leaders into key decision making roles, transformative leadership, cross-cultural management and organisational behaviour.

Mr Terry Feng

Terry has a Bachelor of Financial Administration (University Of New England, 2008), Master in International Business (University Of New England, 2009) and a Certified Practising Accountant full membership (CPA Australia, 2015).

Terry is a highly skilled accountant with over eight years of experience providing Business Service in public accounting practice as well as assisting not-for-profit organisations with their financial management. He is competent in using various accounting software and has a strong understanding of the characteristics of business structures. Terry works as a Senior Accountant in a leading accounting firm in the New England region.
